University's Success in HR Excellence in Research 6-Year Assessment
As Chair of the University of Hertfordshire's Researcher Development Working Group (RDWG), I am delighted to announce that the University has successfully retained the European Commission HR Excellence in Research Award at the 6-Year Assessment point. The HR Excellence in Research award recognises our commitment to improving working conditions and career development opportunities for researchers working at all levels across the University's ten Schools, including the School of Creative Arts which is home to the TVAD Research Group.
An external assessment panel acting on behalf of the European Commission and Vitae (part of CRAC, the Careers Research and Advisory Centre) have confirmed that the University is working effectively to implement the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, an agreement between funders and employers of research staff to improve employment conditions and support for researchers and research careers in UK higher education. Hertfordshire is recognised to be in line with the 6-year review point of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers, incorporating the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
Our success in this assessment rewards the high quality of support for our research community. To retain the HREiR award after 6 years shows that we are continually improving and succeeding within a changing research context. Thanks to all members of the Researcher Development Working Group, to our researchers and all staff who work behalf of researchers across the University.
