This site is for you if you want to learn more about design and its histories. Here, I introduce my work as a design historian interested in the things people think, say and write about design - design discourse - including the mediation of design, writing design, design at home and designing domesticity, national identity and globalization. The pages are divided into three groups - a blog, projects pages and pages introducing each of my books.
The Hand Book - supported with a grant from the British Academy / Leverhulme from September 2018-August 2020.
Design History / Design Heritage, with co-investigator Professor Rebecca Houze (Northern Illinois University).
Read the pages about my projects and books by using the navigation drop-down menu, top left. Here you can access video, audio and text shedding light on my projects:
Dangerous Liaisons: Relationships between Design, Craft and Art;
A further group of pages introduces you to my books:
More information about my work is linked from the Links page, on the left menu pane, and I will be glad to hear feedback via the Contact page. Thanks for reading and I look forward to our future conversation.
